Hongyu Wang, Ph.D.,M.D.,He serves as Professor and Chief Physician of Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Director of Vascular Health Research Center of Peking University Health Science Center(VHRC-PKUHSC), Director of Vascular Medicine Center of Peking University Shougang Hospital, Principle Investigator of State Key Laboratory of Vascular Homeostasis and Remodeling(Peking University),Honorary professor of Peking University Clinical Research Institute, Director of Heart and Vascular Health Research Center of Peking University Clinical Research Institute(HVHRC-PUCRI),Director of Heart and Vascular Health Research Center of Chengdu Medical College(HVHRC-CMC),Director of Intellect Heart and Vascular Health Digital Management Research Center of National Institute of Health Data Science At Peking University, Director of Heart and Vascular Health Technology R&D Center, Peking University Shanghai Lin-gang International Innovation Center. He graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University and gained Doctor degree in 2000,and finished post-doctor position research in Peking University People’s Hospital from 2000 to 2002.

   He held the position of Executive Committee Member of International Society of Vascular Health, chairman of the China branch of the International Society for Vascular Health, Fellow of American Society of Hypertension(FASH), president of Vascular medicine professional committee of Chinese Association of medical education, president of Beijing Medical Ethic Society Clinical Research Branch. He is mainly engaged in coronary heart disease, hypertension, early detection and prevention of vascular diseases, clinical medicine and interventional treatment of vascular diseases, vascular biology and translational medicine research.

   He firstly established the early vascular lesion detection technology and published the first guideline in 2005 and renewed this guideline in 2011 and 2018.And the early vascular lesion detection technology was approved by Ministry of Health of the People`s Republic of China to be promoted to the whole China in 2004.The early vascular lesion detection technology was spreaded and popularized as national program named(China Heart and Vascular Health Promotion Project,CHVHPP)in hundreds of hospitals in more than 20 provinces from 2004 to 2023.He founded and organized the first international vascular medicine congress-Chinese International Congress of Vascular Medicine (CCVM) in 2004,have successfully conducted 20 annual academic conferences, and established the first vascular medicine center in China in 2010. In 2019,he founded Vascular Health Research of Peking University Health Science Center(VHRC-PKUHSC),and as founding director of the center. He hosted as PI of large multi-center clinical trials and cohort studies named as BEST(NCT02569268), EndoFIND(NCT04013204), BVHS(ChiCTR2000034085), CDHVHS (ChiCTR2200062543) on the relationship between vascular health management and cardiovascular diseases outcomes at 2011,2019,2020 and 2022.Currently he has published more than 380 academic papers including more than 40 SCI papers. He was editor in chief of China's first vascular medicine monographs “vascular medicine” and Chinese health science series, a total of eight copies, and over 10 other works. He has received the “Shougang Chief Scientist” award in 2022.Now his research program focuses on studying the mechanisms of vascular health regulation and contribution to the pathogenesis of vascular disease, including endothelial dysfunction and vascular damage in atherosclerosis, arterial stiffness, metabolic vasculopathy as well as vascular aging.
