Research Focus

1Establishing precise methods for disease gene identification and developing related bioinformatics analysis tools;

2Investigating genomic variations and transcriptional regulation of diseases (mainly focus on cardiovascular, metabolic, and cancer) by integrating multi-omics data;

3Developing software to analyze third-generation nanopore sequencing data.

Personal Profile

Chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Peking University. Selected as a National High-Level Youth Talent, Boya Young Scholar at Peking University, and Principal Investigator at the National Key Laboratory of Vascular Homeostasis and Remodeling. Board member of the Computational Systems Biology Division of the Operations Research Society of China, committee member of the Tumor Sequencing and Big Data Analysis Division of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, and committee member of the Epigenetics and Systems Biology Divisions of the Chinese Society for Bioinformatics. He received a Ph.D. degree from the Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Houston Methodist Research Institute, Cornell University, and Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He returned to China in early 2021 and joined the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Peking University. His research mainly focuses on disease gene identification and pathogenic mechanism research. He has published over 40 papers, of which 18 are published as the first or corresponding authors (including co-authors) in international journals such as The Lancet Infectious Diseases, Molecular Cell, Nature Communications, and Nucleic Acids Research. He is the principal investigator of several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Beijing Natural Science Foundation (BJNSF). He serves as a youth editorial board member for the journal Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics. Recipient of awards such as the Peking University Health Science Center Teaching Excellence Award and the Young Faculty Award of the School of Basic Medical Sciences.
