Qinghua Cui obtained his Ph.D in Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences on 2005. After that, he worked with Prof. Edwin Wang as a post-doctor in the Biotechnology Research Institute, National Research Council Canada from July 2005 to July 2007. Then he joined in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, School of Basic Medicial Sciences, Peking University, as an associate professor. In 2012, he became a full professor. He aims to develop database and algorithms for identifying critical targets, pathways, and uncovering potential mechanisms and drugs for cardiovascular diseases such as abdominal aortic aneurysms, cardiomyopathy, and myocardial infarction etc. Some databases and algorithms developed by his team have been widely used in the world, such as the human microRNA disease database (HMDD), long noncoding RNA disase database (LncRNADisease), microRNA functional and enrichment analysis algorithm (TAM), microRNA/disease network construction algorithm (MISIM), lncRNA target prediction algorithm (LncTar), and m6A site prediction algorithm (SRAMP).
