Mingming Zhao, Principal Investigator of State Key Laboratory of Vascular Homeostasis and Remodeling, Associate Research Fellow at Peking University Third Hospital, and Master’s Supervisor. His research focuses on the mechanisms and translational studies of cardiac metabolism and heart failure. He elucidated a novel mechanism whereby the energy metabolism kinase AMPK alleviates cardiac injury caused byβ-AR overactivation and identified various bioactive metabolites involved in the development and progression of heart failure.

As the first or co-first author, Dr. Zhao has published 14 SCI papers in journals such as Circulation Research, Gastroenterology, and Nature Communications. He also contributed to the book “Lymphovascular Biomedicine”. Dr. Zhao has led multiple research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He serves as a Youth Committee Member of the Cardiovascular Pharmacology Professional Committee of the Chinese Pharmacological Society and was selected for the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents.
