Yan Zhang

        Zhang Yan, a researcher at the Peking University Cardiovascular Research Institute, Principal Investigator (PI) of the National Key Laboratory for Vascular Homeostasis and Remodeling, a Distinguished Professor of Boya at Peking University, and a doctoral supervisor. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and is listed in the Young Top-Notch Talents Program. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine and Ph.D. in Physiology from the Peking University Health Science Center. His main research focuses on cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology, with a specific interest in the mechanisms of myocardial cell injury and protection. As the principal investigator, he has been awarded five National Natural Science Foundation grants and one sub-project of the National Key R&D Program of China from the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has published 54 papers, 27 of which are as the first or corresponding author, in prestigious journals including Nature, Cell, Nature Medicine, Nature Cell Biology, and Circulation. He has also been granted seven national invention patents as an inventor. Currently, he serves as a member of the Vascular Medicine Committee of the Chinese Pathophysiology Society and Deputy Director of the Youth Working Group, a council member of the Chinese Physiology Society, a young member of the Receptor Committee of the Chinese Pathophysiology Society, a member of the Aging Genetics Branch of the Chinese Genetics Society, a standing committee member of the Geriatrics Branch of the Chinese Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics, and a member of the Beijing Medical Association's Cardiovascular Branch, among other positions.
